Credit Karma is the leading brand for free credit reports and personalized finance recommendations. Having ventured into credit cards, personal loans, and auto loans, they sought to expand their reach by taking on mortgages.
My team was brought on to design and build a marketplace which provided personalized mortgage recommendations. Credit Karma had a unique advantage: an existing user-base of 100 million and access to information competitors did not – credit reports.
Operating like a startup within the larger organization, we iterated toward product-market-fit and eventually profitability. In the end, we created a sustainable business which provided value to both users and partners.
